Purpose The House system is a parent-led effort to foster community within Sequitur as well as to nurture a growing relationship between our students, city, and various churches in Baton Rouge.
We seek to... - Create a caring, supportive environment where each student will be a valued member of a small 'family unit' within the larger academy - Encourage and build an outward focus where students are active in scholarship, service, and community building. - Build interpersonal skills within groups of students of all ages - Promote student responsibility, team skills, leadership skills, and cooperation - Develop friendships between families, students, and faculty outside the classroom setting.
General Structure: - 3 houses: St. Augustine, Lewis, St. Chrysostom - Houses are divided vertically with students from 7-12 - New students will be added to houses by the House Director - Siblings are automatically assigned to the same house in order to cultivate continuity within families
